Whether using UV germicidal lamps outdoors or indoors or in small confined spaces, the ambient temperature is something we must pay attention to.

At present, there are two main light sources for ultraviolet disinfection lamps : gas discharge light sources and solid-state light sources. The gas discharge light source is mainly a low pressure mercury lamp. Its light-emitting principle is the same as that of the fluorescent lamps we used before. It excites the mercury atoms in the lamp tube, and the low-pressure mercury vapor mainly produces 254 nm UVC ultraviolet rays and 185 nm ultraviolet rays.

Usually, when using UV germicidal lamps, the environment should be kept clean, and there should be no dust and water mist in the air. When the indoor temperature is lower than 20℃ or the relative humidity exceeds 50%, the irradiation time should be extended. After scrubbing the floor, wait for the floor to dry before sterilizing it with a UV lamp. Generally, wipe the UV germicidal lamp with a 95% ethanol cotton ball once a week.

After the ultraviolet germicidal lamp works for a period of time, the wall of the lamp tube will have a certain temperature, which is the temperature that the quartz glass tube can withstand. If it is in a confined space, be sure to pay attention to regular ventilation and cooling. When the ambient temperature exceeds 40℃, if you want to achieve better sterilization effect, it is recommended to use a high temperature amalgam lamp. Because when the ambient temperature exceeds 40℃, the UV output rate will have a certain impact, which is lower than the UV output rate at room temperature. Ultraviolet germicidal lamps can also be used in water from 5℃ to 50℃ to sterilize water. Remember not to put the ballast in the high temperature, so as not to cause a safety hazard. It is recommended to use a high temperature resistant ceramic lamp socket for the lamp. If the ambient temperature is lower than 20℃, the ultraviolet output rate will also be reduced, and the sterilization and disinfection effect will be weakened.

To sum up, in the normal temperature environment of 20℃ to 40℃, the ultraviolet output rate of the ultraviolet germicidal lamp is the highest, and the sterilization and disinfection effect is the best!
